Our Goals

SGBF is designed to demonstrate the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s capacity and the world efforts through its national and international policies for the environmental impact of the built environment from generation to generation whilst encouraging design, construction and operation of clean energy, highly efficient water, building material, indoor air quality, and connectivity of sustainable infrastructure and buildings.

Our Objectives

  • King’s initiative extended by the vision to aid the development of regulations and implementation of Green Building rating systems LEED® by US Green Building Council
  • Promote the comprehensive collection of standards and specifications for Green Building such as IgCC® by International Code Council in Saudi Arabia and across the Arab region
  • Strengthen relations among industry stakeholders from public to private
  • Deliver information, analysis and insights green projects through high-quality workshops from students to professionals
  • Promote Green Building concepts and identify positive policies and implementation relevant to Saudi and the Arab world that preserves culture heritage and expand urban development while incorporating new technological advancements
  • Assure Project Management Office (PMO) and Building Information Modelling (BIM) technologies based on Green Building guidance

The Saudi Green Building Forum is a professional civil society organization, an NGO forces for a green building practice and culture in assisting the development of a comprehensive collection of guiding systems and standards powered by four strategic pillars:

The SGBF is an initiative under the power of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques of Saudi Arabia instructed by Royal Decree (No. 7095/mb dated 5-10-1431 A.H.), partnage by Government since 2010. SGBF is a Non-Governmental, Non-Profit Organization, supported by public and private sector, Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
